The 2010 Hardware Commissioning Campaign

started on January 4


The LHC is being prepared for operations at 3.5 TeV:

  • nQPS cables refurbishment is completed in all sectors

 

  • ElQA HV test successfully performed on sectors 81 - 12 - 23 - 34 - 45 - 56 - 67. Those sectors are now managed by Hardware Commissioning Coordination

Sector 81:

PIC2 tests successfully performed on RQD/F and RB (at 100A). RQD/F have been brought to injection (PLI1.b3) and then proper heaters firing has been verified. RRR measurement tests are ongoing.

Sector 12:

Powering in phase II ongoing. nQPS system hooked to the interlock loop.

  

Sector 23:

Powering in phase II ongoing. All 13kA circuits have been brought to 2kA. The nQPS system will be interlocked next week.

Sector 34:

Powering Phase II ongoing.

Sector 45:

Powering Phase I almost completed for the three 13kA circuits.

Sector 56:

Quench heaters power supply to be switched on next week.

Sector 67:

Quench heaters power supply to be switched on next week.
